Mark Poe - Albertville

My name is Mark Poe. I'm a professional graphic artist and have been for more than 20 years.

My true calling has always been that of a cartoonist. I had some experience in the independent comics market during the Black & White Boom brought on by Eastman and Laird's initial success with
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in the mid 1980's. I did some work with Marcus Lusk and Greg Legat at Marcus's Dimension Graphics on a parody title we called Elf Trek. Marcus had already had success with his one-shot Secret Doors. Both of those titles sold several thousand copies before the Black & White Boom went bust.

See the

Mega Comics Group post for more info on my work for Legacy Comics on two titles, Project: New Man and Humants.

After
Legacy closed up shop, I eventually ended up going out on my own with a graphic art studio, under the company name Mega Graphics, LLC. My web sites for this work are www.megagraphicart.com and www.artmarkings.com.

I do art to sell as clip art for screen printers, offset printers and sign makers. Most of my clip art can be purchased at
extremeclipart.com or allcompu.com. Now most of my commercial work is mainly web sites and web comics. I've gone back to a day job at Creative Printers in Albertville, Alabama, until the latter two endeavors can support me full time just as design work for screen printers did for almost 10 years on my own.

I'm thrilled to have been asked to be a part of the Salty 'Ham Cartooneestas and look forward to hearing from everyone.

Thanks,
Mark
